How this differs

Three things the router keeps visible that an aggregator does not.

Use this page if you arrive from an aggregator and expect the same surface. The wire formats are the same; three things differ on purpose.

The fee is a line

The router never hides its fee in a price. When a request is charged a request fee it is its own line in the usage ledger, next to the model cost, and the rule is in Bring your own key. What you pay the provider and what you pay the router are never one number.

Direct beats the aggregator

When you bring your own provider key the router calls the provider directly with your key. The router is the distribution and the policy, not a reseller standing between you and the provider's price.

Explain on every call

Each answer carries a decision id, and GET /v1/route/explain/{decisionId} returns why that model was chosen and which were excluded. A route you cannot explain is a defect. See Routing.

What is not offered

  • There is no page that lists services for sale; the router lists models and the receipt shows the cost.
  • SDK packages for chat are not offered: the OpenAI and Anthropic SDKs are the SDKs. A typed client for the other endpoints is in The SDK; a generated client in other languages is not available yet.
  • Application attribution headers and an MCP server for assistants are not offered.
